2008 Junior Camp

“Power Up” is the theme of this year’s Junior Camp at Double K Christian Retreat Center! Children ages 9-11 (i.e. entering grades 4, 5 and 6 in the fall) are invited to attend the camp, July 28-31st. 2008 Campmeeting and Conference

Plan now to attend the PNA Campmeeting and Conference this summer, July 22-27, at Double K Christian Retreat Center!

This year we are introducing a new format, running Tuesday to Sunday, to allow more people to participate. Preceding the main camp is a new Seniors’ Retreat, July 20-22. Our theme this year is “Celebrating Unity”, and we are pleased to have Dr. John Johnson of Warner Pacific College with us as the guest speaker. WCG Spring Meeting

New SHAPE Administrative Assistant

SHAPE Northwest (a cooperative venture of the PNA and the Oregon / Southwest Washington district) is pleased to announce the appointment of LeAnn Brown as our new Administrative Assistant, effective April 1st. LeAnn is a pastor’s wife in Newberg, Oregon and has considerable experience in and a Master’s degree pertaining to adult learning, and is strong proponent of SHAPE’s objectives. LeAnn will be taking over from Paula Wilson, who will be moving to California in March.

Milfred Minatrea to lead PNA conference

We are pleased to announce that Milfred Minatrea, Founder and Director of the Missional Church Center, will be with us this fall for a one day “Shaped by God’s Heart” conference. Dr. Minatrea is a noted speaker, teacher and practitioner, and travels the world assisting churches to move from survival to signficance and from maintenance to missional. His book, Shaped by God’s Heart: The Passion and Practices of Missional Churches, has had a tremendous influence on churches and leaders.

Our Ministerial Assembly will be sponsoring this event with Minatrea, and is inviting all pastors and church leaders to attend. The conference will be held Friday, October 3rd at Double K (the day prior to our PNA Annual Meeting). More details will be available in the coming months, but for now be sure to mark this on your calendars and encourage your church leaders to plan on attending.

New Background Check service

Protecting people, especially children, is an important responsibility of every congregation. To assist churches in this priority the PNA has been facilitating background checks for church workers. Please note, however, that effective January 1st we have been forced to use another provider for our background check service. As a result, some of the policies and procedures will be changing.
